Pregnant women and residents of Bulenga Gogonya have benefited from free medical services and health education aimed at promoting maternal and child health.

The outreach was organised by Bulenga Healing Ministries, led by Pastor Nalongo Tendo Rose, in partnership with medical professionals from Vital Care and Dawn and Care Hub.

Residents received a range of free health services, including HIV testing, PEP and PrEP services, as well as treatment for other health conditions.

Pregnant women were also provided with mama kits to help them prepare for childbirth and ensure they have some of the essential items needed when delivering their babies.

Health workers used the outreach to educate residents about breastfeeding, maternal health and proper care during pregnancy, emphasising the importance of seeking medical attention and following professional health advice.

The initiative is aimed at bringing essential health services closer to the community while increasing awareness about maternal and child health.

Organisers say such community-based outreaches are important in helping residents access basic medical services, particularly those who may face challenges reaching health facilities or meeting the cost of treatment.

The health education also encouraged mothers to make informed decisions about breastfeeding and seek professional guidance whenever they face challenges during pregnancy or after childbirth.
