Kayunga: NUP’s Nakwedde Petitions Court Over Nantaba’s ‘Controversial’ Win

Kayunga: National Unity Platform flag bearer on Kayunga District Woman Member of Parliament Seat in 2021 general elections, Harriet Nakwedde had yesterday petitioned High Court over Nantaba Idah Erios’ win.

According to a copy this website has received, Nakwedde through PACE advocates, on Thursday, 18, 2021, petitioned High Court of Uganda in Mukono and waiting for further communication from Court since they have received the file.

Nakwedde claiming that through ugly scenes before, during and after vote counting at Electoral Commission office in Kayunga district, Nantaba stole her victory.

It should be remembered that during the vote counting of Woman Member of Parliament, Kayunga district, Electoral commission with the help of security organs they chased away people and cameras at the tally Centre, to which Nakwedde is saying it was unfair to her and Kayunga residents.

Basing on that background, Nakwedde who was announced second behind Idah, took two partied in court, that is the Electoral Commission and Idah Nantaba.

While speaking to this website in an exclusive interview, Nakwedde said that they have evidence and witnesses that pin Nantaba of bribing votes which is against the laws.

It’s true I petitioned High Court in Mukono.” Nakwedde confessed before adding. “Ida and electoral commission stole my victory, we have enough evidence, that is the DR forms and witnesses who saw Idah bribing voters, giving them money and other physical items on the polling day.
