USF Elections: Mwase Manifests Ten Strong Pillars to Shoot Swimming Bar High
The Uganda Swimming Federation elections draw closer and the battle for top seat is between two experienced administrators, only waiting for 13th March, delegates to decide the fate.
On that post Mwase is competing against Peter Simon Mugisha.
The current federation president Moses B Mwase in an exclusive interview with this website, the the passionate and experienced administrator of Swimming manifested his ten strong pillars he feels will shoot the game’s bar high.
Mwase who is fresh from Uganda Olympic committee elections and was voted the committee’s second vice President unopposed said that if he is given mandate to sit in Swimming Federation’s driving seat, he will see that those ideas which some are already in place shall be fulfilled.
“As Mwasa, I am an experienced Sports administrator, a very competent person who is suitable for this position.” Mwase told this website.
The Ten Pillars Mwase is to look up to if the delegates on 13th of March at National Council Sports Lugogo give him the mandate:
Working on new strategic plan,
Swimming is a Commonwealth and an Olympic Sports, our 2015-20 plan ended, so we are working on a new strategic plan that will drive us forward and we have already started making consultations.
Long time Athletes Development plan
This plan will help us provide a path way for progressing of athletes or swimmers from amateur to semi-professional and professional ranks, this plan a key because many federations have used it and worked for them.
Development of National Aquatic Centre,

I like to pay more attention on development of our national Aquatic facility but also to encourage our members especially those who can to put up the facilities do. Though we much need our home.
Spread Swimming outside urban centres, swimming is mostly urban based and this is because it’s where the facilities are. We are having a special program called swim for all, swim for life and it’s a FINA initiative which encourages people from all walks of life. We want swimming to be a mass sport.
National Coaching Curriculum, this will help us to have a clear coaching standards that will help us improve and set baseline in terms of what coach can do.
Work on new aquatic disciplines,

we previously rolled out Waterpolo but it got disturbance with COVID-19 pandemic, but we want to promote more.
Digitize and improve on database management, we want data of all athletes and coaches to be available, we have a website and we are working closely with NITA-U which have already donated to us some computer equipment.
National team Kit,
We need to have a national uniform that identifies the Swimming Brand, we are already talking with a Taiwan Apple Manufacture and in due course there will be a sample design of what we want.
Continue relationship with strategic partners, the government and other development partners.
Financial sustainability, we have struggled but hoping in this coming year once given the mandate, I will reach out to new sponsors and also to maintain those we already have, but we want to widen our scope to start selling merchandise
