Masaza Cup 2024: We’re Not Scared of Any in Our Group – Bugerere Sazza Manager

The draws for the 2024 Masaza Cup edition were held yesterday at Bulange Mengo and the Bugerere Sazza new Manager, Ssekitto Andrew was among those who made the draws. 

For starters, Bugerere is among the many counties that have never lifted the prestigious local tournament and every year they hope it will be theirs. 

Bugerere was pitted in Bulange group which was termed as one of the hardest to go through.

It has the defending champions, Bulemeezi, losing semifinalists, Buddu, 2008 champions, Kyadondo, 2011 champions, Buluuli, Butambala and Bugerere. 

However, Bugerere Sazza Manager, Ssekitto Andrew is very optimistic that this is the best chance for Bugerere to make it out of the group like they did it in 2020. 

“I have huge hopes for the preparation we have made and we are still making at home (Ntenjeru), they do give us an upper hand to edge out our opponents.” Ssekitto said after the draws. 

” We’re not scared of Buddu, Defending champions (Bulemeezi), it’s like a local Derby, so more than four of them (Masaza) are of no show, so I urge the Bugerere subjects that the Sazza is in the hands of the manager who was with it in 2020 when we disciplined many.

So I promise you that Bugerere is going out to compete for the best this season.” Manager Ssekitto Andrew added.

In the same meeting that was held at Bulange, the four year law that was prohibiting players from featuring in the tournament for more than four years was scrapped off and now the players are free to Play in Masaza Cup tournament for years they like. 

This year’s edition is set to commence on 22nd June 2024 and expected to climax in November, the same year.
