Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Awards’ Envelope to be improved, Says Agency’s CEO
The awarding event held on Tuesday at Lazio Restaurant Kololo has climaxed the 5th year of the Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Awards since came into existence in 2018.
Entering the sixth consecutive year of doing what they know better, Real Stars Sports Agency Chief Executive Officer and the aspiring 2026 Buikwe District MP, Isaac Mukasa revealed to this website that in 2024 they are looking at improving the amount in the envelopes of the winners.
According to Mukasa, the year, 2023, the winners each has been walking away with an accolade and a token of 500,000/- but entering into the sixth year, they looking at improving that budget at least to 600,000/- or 700,000/- per winner.
The outspoken senior Journalist commented on increasing on the number of disciplines they award every month to eight and more.
“2024 means, we have entered our sixth year of awarding the best athletes in the country on a monthly basis.” Says Mukasa Isaac in his opening remarks.
“2023 has been a success because we have managed to improve on our disciplines, remember when we started we were looking at three or four but this time we have been managing six, eight disciplines, this time we expect to have more like ten and plus per month because we have over 50 disciplines.” He explained.
“This year we want to improve on the envelopes, if a winner comes hoping to get more than 500,000/-, then also we want to see the quality of the awarding system getting improved, we want when the journalists come, they see all the statistics on screens, so that the standards keep on improving.
In improving all that, it means the agency must have money and Isaac revealed that soon they will be unveiling another sponsor to join Jude Color Solutions and Fortebet Uganda.
“We also expect to unveil another sponsor very soon, if all goes as we want, we shall unveil that sponsor within this first quarter of the year.” Isaac Mukasa, Real Stars Sports Agency CEO.
Today, they have awarded from four disciplines, that’s; Boxing, Football, Cricket and Rugby.
John Sserunjogi, the boxing category winner for the month of December asserted that it’s his first time to win the Real Stars accolade but he promised to be a regular figure at the podium. Sserunjogi beat Isaac Masembe and Jjunju Power to win the accolade.
SSERUNJOGI became the first Ugandan professional boxer to win the WBA Africa belt away from home in the last ten years.
The middleweight pugilist overcame the wrath of Guinea’s Ibo Maier in the West African Country.
“My target is to fight against the champions at the world stage, I no longer want to fight against the young ones at home but I can give them sparring, because they can give me good sparring the likes of Kabona Medie, the Shadir Musa.” Said John Sserunjogi upon winning his first accolade.
“Yes this is my first time to win this award, but in our camp we say that we have started, expect me again to come back on this platform very soon.” Said Sserunjogi, a boxer who won the December accolade in the boxing category.
