Stanbic Uganda Cup: Kaweesi Shines as Katereke New Life Eliminates Kansanga Half London to Propel to Round Two

Stanbic Uganda Cup [Kampala region] results:

Kansanga 0-3 Katereke New Life

Shafik Kaweesi shined when his side, Katereke New Life beat Kansanga Half London 3-0 on road to propel to round two of the preliminary round of stanbic Uganda Cup.

The match which was played at Kansanga Seed on 21st December 2023, in the absence of Akram Miod and Trevor Bbaale, Kaweesi lifted his side to see off the hosts, Kansanga.

Kaweesi got involved in two goals of the three, he gave his side a lead in the 32nd minute before getting appearing in the build up Earl in second half of the game.

Muhammad Ssempeebwa converted in the 52nd minute after receiving an assist from Joseph Lwanga.

Both players with final touches just took less than 5 minutes after replacing Coleen Muleme and Paddy Akamba.

Later around 5 minutes Kaweesi also won Free but resulted nothing but again few minutes from the incidence he sliced apart Kansanga’s defence and pass to Lwanga who had a slim touch to find Fahad Sacco to add on another unplayable touch to find Ssempebwa ‘PEEPE’ whom technically taken a short for his brace which took the game to 3-0 in favour of the visitors with 57 minutes on clock and later became the final score.

Meanwhile Kansanga Half London missed a penalty taken by Godfrey Mubiru and Saved by Geofrey Opio following Mukhutali Mukiibi’s foul on Emmanuel Bwire in 83rd minute.

Elsewhere Mbogo eliminated Wembley Boys 2-4, Police Young saw off
Lutembe FC, 4-2 via spot kicks following a one all draw in normal time.

Nakulabye washed out 0-2 by Lufula FC, Kyambogo at home eliminated KJT 0(05- 0(04) as Iris FC stopping Lukuli Hearts with 2-0 And Ntinda United progressed to next stage after defeating Proline FC 1-0.

Teams which managed to win there games have reached the Kampala region round of 16 which shall take place on 28 December 2023 with New Life Katereke facing either Lungujja Galaxy or Mutungo united following the result to come from the their meeting on 23rd December 2023.
