Latifah Queens FC 1-2 Golden Impact SC Women

Latifah Queens Football Club fell to Buganda Women League Group B leaders, Golden Impact SC Women following a 2-1 defeat in the game held on Saturday at Kabimbiri R/C Playground on Saturday 9th, December 2023. 

Despite the defeat, Latifah Queens asserted that they have picked a lot of positives in the game.

The Queens left the playground with smiles, even if they had just suffered their first defeat of the season.

Habibah Namagambo sent the hosts into the lead in the 20th minute, she curled a free kick into the back of the net following a tackle to Fauza Ibrahim.

Four minutes later, Kedrinah Aseru leveled the matters to send the game into halftime break at levels.

The only difference of the game was a penalty awarded to the visitors in the 68th minute, Fauna Ibrahim was brought down in the forbidden area, and Aisha Namukwaya converted from the spot to earn her side the maximum points.

Latifah Queens coach Abdallah Bakirisa said afterwards, “There is always three (3) things in Football, win, lose or a draw”.

“This is our first loss in the league after registering victories in our first two games. We have been preparing for this game, though the results did not come our way”.

“We are going back to the drawing board, revise and correct mistakes such that we come back to winning ways”. Added Abdallah Bakirisa

Golden Impact SC Women, Moses Gaale credited players for the result.

“I thank God for these points, and credit goes to my Players for the fighting spirit exhibited in today’s game because the game has not been an easy one”.

“Latifah Queens did put up a fight spirit because it is the first team this season to score in our net and also stop us from scoring more than Three goals”.

“We are building for the future, and today’s win is not an excitement but we just want to build from that and make sure we win the rest of games”.

In the next matches, Latifah Queens Football club will pay a visit to Kangulumira Church of Uganda playground against Kangulumira Public SS WFC while Golden Impact SC Women return home against Luweero Star Cranes Ladies FC at Katikolo Kungu playground.
