Sports: CAVB Entrusts Uganda To Host Women’s 2020 U20 African Nation’s Volleyball Championship
The Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) entrusted the Uganda Volleyball federation to host the 2020 Women’s U-20 African Nations championship, this website learnt.
Via their official twitter handle, the Continental body revealed the program that shows the two upcoming events, and the countries that to host them.
The two events includes; that Uganda is going to host and the 2020 Men’s U21 African Nation’s Volleyball Championship which is to be hosted by Egypt.
“Uganda Volleyball Federation has been entrusted by the Confederation of African Volleyball to host the 2020 women’s U20 African Nation’s Volleyball Championship.” The tweet on CAVB platform reads in part.
The confederation also said the event shall be held between 18th February to 26th the same month in 2021. So far four countries have confirmed their participation.
“The event which will be played from February 18th to 26th in Kampala as Cameroon, Congo RDC, Tunisia and host Uganda confirmed participation so far.” The following tweet reads.
The winner will represent Africa at the 2021 FIVB U20 World Championship.
The competition calendar is as follow;
Arrival date: 18th February 2021
Technical meeting: 19th February 2021
Competition dates: 20th to 25th February 2021
Departure date: 26th February 2021
The same dates given to Egypt to host the U21 Men’s African Nations Volleyball Championship.
Egypt Volleyball Federation are confirmed host for the 2020 Men’s U21 African Nation’s Volleyball Championship.
The competition will be held in Cairo from February 18th to 26th 2021 and so far Cameroon, Congo RDC, Uganda, Tunisia, Morocco and host Egypt confirm participation
The winner will represent Africa at the 2021 FIVB Men’s U21 World Championship.

This is not the first time Uganda is hosting such international and continental championships.
In 2017, Uganda hosted the Beach Volleyball Zone five world cup qualifiers at Lido Beach Entebbe before hosting 2018 CAVB zone five third youth games qualifiers for girls and boys.
And the last one happened in 2019 when the federation was entrusted to host All Africa games qualifiers for women and Uganda grabbed the second position in the tournament held at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
