Katikkiro Confirms Kabaka’s Availability at the Bika Opener, 2023 Season officially Launched
The Buganda Kingdom Primer, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga confirmed to Buganda and the country at large that His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II will grace the opener of the 2023 Bika By’Abaganda football and netball opener.
Katikkiro revealed this confirmation to the country on Tuesday morning at Bulange Mengo Gardens when he was officially launching the 49th edition of Bika By’Abaganda tournament.
“I want to confirm that Kabaka is in the Palace comfortably ruling his people, and he will be with us on Saturday at Wankulukuku at the Bika Opener when Nkima playing against Ngabi Nsamba ” say Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga.
“If we want to bring Buganda on top, we need to uplift our clans, you all know that Kabaka gave this generation to the youths, when they play football, they in that line in what Kabaka wants them to do.” He added
“I request the clan heads to have meetings with the youths and come into football, football is one of the sports disciplines youths love, so I request youth to support their clans and learn more about them when they meet.” Says Katikkiro
This time, Airtel added Bika By’Abaganda among the Buganda Kingdom activities they sponsor though they didn’t reveal how much they will be injecting in this year’s edition and the partnership will run for who long.
“I appreciate our partners Airtel and Uganda Aids Commission for always coming to support us they know that the Kabaka is the heart of Buganda.”
“I call upon all of you to come and enjoy the game with our Kabaka as it is the best way of seeing Buganda back on the top so, I officially launch the 49th edition of the Bika Byabaganda Football and Netball tournaments.”
Buganda Sports Minister and Leisure Owek. Henry Ssekabembe Kiberu who was returning from leave, Ali Balunywa from,Airtel, Nelson Musoba (Uganda Aids Commission) several clan leaders were in attendance.
On Saturday, 13th, Nkima will be playing against Ngabi Nsamba and these two clans have already kicked off Preparations to display the best game for Kabaka.
The entrance fee at Wankulukuku will be 10000/- ordinary, 20000/- VIP a d students will enter at only 2000/-. According to organizers, the gates will be open at 10am.
