Kampala Region USSSA Qualifiers: Ghadaffi Integrated Shocks Kawempe Muslim as Semifinalists Revealed

Ghadaffi Integrated Academy, shocked the Kampala Region girls football defending champions Kawempe Muslim SS in the USSSA regional qualifiers game honored on Thursday at Kakungulu Memorial playground.

The only goal and the winner of the game was scored by Joweria Nagadya, the game ended 1-0.

Joweria Nagadya gave Ghadaffi smile through spot kick following intentional handball from Kawempe Muslim SS skipper Samalie Nakacwa, she punched the ball to save the goal, centre referee clearly saw her and sent her off the pitch with a straight red card.

Kawempe through Shakira Nyinagahirwa and Rebecca Nakato tried to bounce back into the game but all their efforts hit the crossbar until the game climaxed.

The win put Ghadaffi Integrated in the second place behind table leaders Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga, Kawempe Muslim SS finished third .

The Kampala Region USSSA girls Qualifiers, this year played in a round robin format and the qualifiers attracted six schools, four of them qualified to semifinals which will be played in Friday 14th April before the final on Saturday 15th April 2023 at the same venue.

Prior to the defeat, Kawempe Muslim and Uganda Martyrs who beat Ghadaffi Integrated shared spoils.

The games were played at Kibuli Secondary School and Kakungulu Memorial.

Uganda Martyrs, Ghadaffi Integrated, Kawempe Muslim SS and Rubaga Girls made to semifinals.

At semifinals, Kawempe Muslim SS will play against Ghadaffi Integrated while Rubaga and Uganda Martyrs will face offe.
