Volleyball Playoffs: KCCA, OBB Ladies, Ndejje Elites and Sport-S Feel Ready for the Show
The National Volleyball Leagues playoffs for both men and women set to start this weekend at Old Kampala Sports Arena.
The Women’s Serie A has four teams qualified for playoffs and while addressing media in the press briefing held on Thursday at Old Kampala Sports Arena, the women serie A club representatives revealed how ready they are to put up a great show starting on Saturday 1st April, 2023.
Marik Damulira, tactician of Sport-S Ladies the side that first on top of the table of regular season believes that his opponent in Orange Block Busters OBB Ladies are a strong side but this time are set to make it to the final and probably to defend the title.

“We are playing OBB, a tough opponent, we lost to them in National Championship, they were very strong in that tournament but we’re set, ready to take this first game of the playoffs.” Says Marik Damulira
OBB Ladies skipper, Sandra Ikiring asserted that their main target before the season was to make it to playoffs and they are happy for that.

“Out target was to get to the playoffs, if we win well and good. We are ready to put up a good show, we are training very well and we are in good shape. Yes we lost to them in first round, we went for decisive in second round and we’re almost at the same level.” Says Sandra Ikiring, OBB Ladies skipper.
In the other Women’s Serie A Fixture is that of the defending champions, Ndejje University Elites and KCCA, Ndejje’s tactician, Waguma Sadat, accepted that his team is in transition but believes that it’s effective to the team.

“We have been in transition in regular season, it affected the girls but to me it was good to us, last season we won every game which put the girls in comfortable seat, so the loss was a walk up call to them and I believe they will take this game as a serious one.”
Amuron Eunice, KCCA captain showed her excitement that her team made it it playoffs especially in a very competitive regular season.

“The season has been quite competitive, but we’re excited to be in playoffs. Ndejje is the defending champions, they are going to give us tough competition but we have been training and we are willing to put up as strong competition.” Said Amuron Eunice.
In the same line, the club’s tactician Sheila Omuriwe revealed that they respect every team but they play to win, and handle game per game.

The playoffs will feature six games each day, with teams from different Series or divisions competing for the top spot.
The format will see the table leader play the fourth team on the log, while the second best will play against the third team in their respective division.
In the Men’s Serie A, Sport-S is the table leader will be playing against OBB while UCU and KAVC will be facing off.
OBB is the title holder of the Men’s league.
While the venue might be smaller than the Lugogo indoor Arena, the players and coaches are ready to put on a great show and the organizers promised a shift to the desired venue if need arises and the Lugogo indoor is available.
