Netball Super League: KCCA Secure ‘Double’ Victory To Keep It Tight With NIC.

Kampala Capital City Authority Netball Club, the one of the 2022/23 season title contenders continued with their fine form and are now seven games unbeaten following the two important wins they registered against newcomers Busia Greater Lions and UPDF Netball Club on Saturday.
The Uganda netball super league, match week nine was honored at Busia Netball Arena in Busia and three games were played on the day and two of them were of KCCA Netball Club.
The Fred Mugerwa charges managed to beat Busia Greater Lions 41-55 in the opening fixture and in their last, they humbled the solider girls by 42-52 final score.

Despite the two wins for the Kasasiro girls, their head coach Fred Mugerwa Tabale was given matching orders of the bench due to consistent indiscipline he showed to the Umpires in their game against Busia Greater Lions and he wasn’t also not on the bench when his side beat UPDF 52-42.,
In his post match interview with this website, KCCA assistant coach, Hassan Kato Nourdine asserted that their main target is to win this year’s title and they have started thinking about taking the league unbeaten.
“The good thing we have managed to secure two wins today, we are still unbeaten and our main target is to win the title this season, we have managed to beat strong teams, the likes of NIC, Weyonje , now UPDF, which shows that we can again go unbeaten through out this season.” Says Kato.
In the breakdown of KCCA’s wins, they found a challenge against Busia in their first quarter because it ended 11 up but they managed to bounce back stronger and won all the three remaining quarters by 14-10,15-10 and 15-10 to win the game 55-41.
Against UPDF, they won the three quarters apart from the last one; 12-10,14-09,18-11 and 09-12.
In last five games, UPDF has only two wins, and three draws and they do sit in 6th position on the log with six points however, KCCA still in second position with 14 points in seven games, her and Prisons are the only sides with 100% record this season so far.

NIC had a landslide victory against newcomers, Busia Greater Lions, the defending champions won the game 75-50 to maintain their top spot on the log, now with 16 points in nine games. Her top scorer and league scorers’ chart leader Sera Zam on the day she has netted 64 goals that pushed her to 335 goals, followed by Anena Charity Cinderella from Busia with 254 and then Kabendela third with 248 goals.
The league will resume on Saturday, 26th November with five game at Kamwokya Community Sports Centre.
