16.3km Low cost sealing Volume road Kyerima-Namabugga-Lukonda-Kamusabi-Lugasa To Be Commissioned In December
The work of 16.3 Kilo Meter Low cost sealing Volume road in Bbaale Constituency, Kayunga District from Kyerima-Namabugga-Lukonda-Kamusabi-Lugasa has gained momentum and it has reached 80% physical progress.
Following the meeting between Kayunga Resident District Commissioner Mrs Margret Kikomeko Mwanamoiza and Betway Contractors the tendered constructing company held on Friday 6th, November at Kamusabi C/U Primary School, the Road will be commissioned on 2nd, December this year.
The meeting was also attended by Minister of Works Supervisor (Alvin Wanyotto), On ground Supervisor (Matthew Okyolya), Betway Contractors Managing Director (Kanyange Fatuma Kalibbala), Community Development Officer-Kayunga (Collins Kafeero) and Workers (35 Ladies and 15 Men)

“Our Government is always aim at seeing that Poverty is eradicated in the community and this can only be reached by providing good roads for Transport, Electricity and many more.” Stated the District RDC.
“Upon completion of the road then the debt will be on us the residents on how we will put it (Road) into proper use of it.” She Added.
The first phase of construction started in 2018 – 2019 from Kyerima-Namabugga-Lukonda covering 12 Kilo Meters and it costed 6.8 Billions Uganda Shillings.
The second phase for the remaining 4.3 Kilo meters kicked off in March this year and it was set to be finished in August but due to COVID-19 pandemic the work was delayed.
The 2nd phase (from Lukonda – Lugasa) is now only remaining with putting Culvert lines and mending the head walls before commissioning in Dec 2020.
Government have injected 9.5 Billions Uganda Shillings only in the Construction of 16 Kilo Meters.
