USSSA Post Primaries: Kayunga District Representatives Learn Opponents as Draws Held
The two Kayunga District representatives, St Ponsiano Ngondwe and Kayunga Light College learnt their groups and opponents in the forthcoming 2022 USSSA Post Primary games to be held at Mvara in Arua District West Nile Sub Region.
On Wednesday at the head office of Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association, the draws for the 2022 were held and the 64 Qualified schools learnt their opponents.
The 64 teams were pitted in eight groups of eight teams.
Kayunga Light College drawn in group B with the hosts Mvara, Sironko SS, Kitgum Comprehensive, Kabalega SS, Amusi College, Old Kampala and Late Comer 7, while St Ponsiano Ngondwe is in group G, with Jinja Progressive, Teso College, St Jude, Mbale Progressive, Nile High, Late Comer 2 and Late Comer 10.
But before the draws, the Association chair, Patrick Okanya revealed on the issue of slots and how they allocate them.
“Slots are given according to performance, utilization of slots, number of teams involved in your area and consideration.”
He also asserted that the online registration that started this year will be the norm of the day even in the coming editions to avoid the issue of mercenaries.
“Online registration is here to stay, the registration of players will be starting in January and enter three weeks into the term.
Starting next edition, headteachers will also take photos with their teams, this is to avoid the use of mercenaries” Patrick Okanya said.
The draws for Girls football were not held today but the chairman Organizing Committee and the Association treasurer Justus Mugisha says, the date for their draws will be communicated.
The games kicks off on Monday 18th April 2022 and expected to end on 30th, the same month.
