It Seems,They Pressed a wrong button, Two Banned, One on Suspension from UNF EXCOM

All started with joy, happiness and excitement in June 2021 when the new executive of Uganda Netball Federation elected to lead the game in the next four years.

However, little did they know that in only six months, wrangles will take a centre stage even before Celebrating their first year Anniversary.

It all started with the suspension of Publicity Secretary, Yahaya Ssengabi who got involved in fight with the Planning and Organizing Committee Member in Fred Mutengeesa. Ofcourse the two were suspended and were advised to go to disciplinary Committee to sort out their issues before returning to serve the nation.

The following information this website received, it was about the letter, the general Secretary in Aminah Mande wrote calling for an executive meeting on 7th January 2022 and the issues were in the agenda were to discuss on the extra Annual General Assembly, discussing about the issue of the Vice president technical (Richard Muhumuza), mismanagement of the Federation activities and the issue of Yahaya’s suspension.

But without the knowledge and approval of the president and her Vice president, Administration Brig. Gen. Flavia Byekwaso which is against their constitution.

This called for an immediate suspension to the two executive members who were also ordered to take their issues to the Disciplinary Committee however, the two in Aminah Mande (General Secretary) and Richard Muhumuza (Vice president technical) instead of going to the federation DC, they opted to seek assistance from normal courts Law firm of Kavuma, Kabenge Co. Advocates which is also contrary to Federation guiding document.

On Friday 14th, January 2022, at Old Kampala SS, the disciplinary Committee sat to listen to all parties but of the four called, only Fred Mutengeesa appeared and the rest in Aminah Mande, Richard Muhumuza and Yahaya Ssengabi didn’t show up and gave no reason.

Today, the federation through it’s newly appointed Acting Publicity Secretary officially revealed that two EXCOM Members (Richard Muhumuza and Aminah Mande) were banned from all federation activities.

“This communication therefore serves to inform the general public that Mande Aminah who was the General Secretary and Richard Muhumuza who was the Vice President Technical have banned from participating in any Netball activity, representing Uganda Netball Federation and acting on behalf of any Netball activity of Uganda.”

“The two were banned from Netball activities on abuse of office and violation of the Constitution of the Uganda Netball Federation.” Stated the Press Statement.

As we speak now, the Federation and her president, Hon. Babirye Kityo Sarah were taken to Court only waiting for their difference.

“When you see such things are happening, it means that the game is growing, it means we are taking a right direction, this is just a simple wave which will soon stabilize and just wait for tremendous work from this executive.” Federation president said yesterday.
