‘Don’t Eat Alive’, Uganda AIDs Commission Advises Youths to Use Condom

Today at International University of East Africa, the Reach a Hand Uganda together with Uganda Aids Commission in their campaign of seven days where they aiming at creating HIV/AIDs awareness to six districts in the country revealed that the use of Condoms keep on reducing everyday.

The commission says there is a low condom use in the country currently compared to last ten years which is a big obstacle in fighting against HIV spread.

According to Dr Byamukama from Uganda Aids Commission, the trend of Ugandans using condoms now is going down and this is risky when it comes to war of fighting Aids.

“There is need of continued education on this especially in young people since the percentage of young population engaging in multiple sex partnerships is high but their use of condoms is low.” Said Dr. Byamukama Daniel

Byamukama Daniel also adds that even the married couples who engage in extra marital affairs are also increasing though they have not embraced condom use for protection.

Byamukama Daniel revealed this while at the Aids week at International University of East Africa organised by Reach a Hand Uganda,a civil society that is advocating for a fight against Aids.

The Government of Uganda is aiming atleast by 2030 they should be reduction of HIV/AIDS in Ugandan population especially in Young people in order to securing a better future for Ugandans.
