2023 USSSA Qualifiers: Our Primary Target is To Retain Mukono Kingship-Mudholo
With just hours to quarter finals of the 2023 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association qualifiers of Mukono District, Mudholo Shafic, who is the head coach of greater Mukono region and Mukono District defending champions Mukono Kings High School in Secondary Schools Sports Association in Boys Football has pointed out the primary target of his side.
“It is always not easy to retain any championship to fact that whoever faces you want show the world of Sports that he is better than you but our target is to first defend what we have and year for others”. Said Mudholo in an interview with this website.
In the District quaternary finals, Mukono Kings High School was pitted in group B alongside Mt. St. Henry’s Secondary School, Kasawo Secondary School, and Central College Kabimbiri, with all their group fixtures set for 1st April 2023 at Kalagi Playground.
The top two teams from this group will advance to semi-finals and also joined by top two sides from group A as Mukono District representatives at Greater Mukono Region.
Group A, which has Latifah Mixed Secondary School, Dynamic SS, OF Yale Secondary School, and St John’s Secondary School Kauga, will battle off at Nakanyonyi Church of Uganda playground.
Mukono King’s High School has registered 100 per cent winning records, and they have scored eighteen (18) goals and conceding five goals (5).
In the first round, the Knigs of greater Mukono thrashed Talents College by 3-0 scoreline and Romasa by 4-2 to qualify from central zone
On round two, Mukono King’s High School defeated Vision For Africa by 4-1 and St John’s Secondary School by 3-2
On round three at Ntawo playground, Mukono King’s High School defeated Seeta High School by 2-0, Mukono Parents Secondary School 1-0 and Dynamic Secondary School by 1-0.
Last year, defeated Kasawo Secondary School to be Crowned Champions of Mukono District before edging Kayunga Light College to expand their empire by Crowning greater Mukono region champions.
At the National Championship in Arua, Mukono Kings shocked the Sports fraternity when they eliminated Royal Giants before losing to St Mary’s SS Kitende in quarter finals.
