Kayunga: PTA Chairman Detained For Collecting Funds from Parents
By Batte Musa._
The Parent and Teachers Association (PTA) Chairperson for Busaana C/U has been arrested by Busaana Police on the orders of the Kayunga Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for collecting PTA funds from parents.
Recently, while meeting with various education stakeholders in Kayunga district, the RDC, Hajji Ddumba Moses, banned the collection of PTA fees, claiming that the government is catering for all UPE pupils.
Mr Leju Julius, the chairman PTA of Busaana C/U in Busaana Sub County, is currently under custody at Busaana Police Post for going against this ban. Police have recorded the case and placed on Mr Leju charges of theft by trickery under the File Number SD REF07/04/11/2022.
Meanwhile, other stakeholders in the district, including Councillor Bulinson Saleh, have blamed the RDC for taking what he (Saleh) termed as “erroneous actions” against the PTA heads all across the district.
Hon Amos Lugoloobi, the Member of Parliament for Ntenjeru North, also, during a recent interview, showed disagreement with the decision of the Kayunga RDC, and concluded that the RDC’s office is not wishing well for the children in Kayunga.
Mr, RDC has
to get , another prison on top of the existing ones in kayunga coz 90% of the schools in kayunga collect funds on the discussion s of parents ,only that the collected funds do not meet the desited plan instead the headteachers use them on personal benefits,
