KLC-Rays of Grace Football club on Saturday 11th, June crowned champions of Kayunga District Football Association 4th Division for the season 2021/22. The crowning ceremony was held at St Mathias Mulumba Secondary School, Kitimbwa.
KLC-Rays of Grace who went into the game as already confirmed champions, played to a barren draw with Bbaale United Football club at St Mathias Mulumba Secondary School playground in a match attended by Thousands of supporters.
During the crowning ceremony, area Member of Parliament who was the chief guest, Hon. Charles Tebandeke thanked all the teams which participated in this year’s league for putting up a good fight which vibe in the league for the first time.
“I wish to thank all stakeholders who invested in Money and time to organize their teams because this season has really been competitive”. Stated Hon Tebandeke.
“I am really excited by the champions in KLC-Rays of Grace because the boys are young in appearance but mature in the game of football and this should be a lesson to us because it is not all about age or size but the display at the pitch”. Added Hon. Tebandeke
Rays of Grace Academy who bought off Kayunga Light College Football Club as a way of creating playing time for the Academy graduates were victorious in their maiden league.
“We are thankful to the Administration of Rays of Grace, Players, and Supporters for all their efforts towards this success. Thank you People of Kayunga District for accepting us to have a fair competition with you People because it has really been competitive”. Said Kabali Michael, the head coach Rays of Grace.
Elsewhere in the match day fixtures, Ndeeba Football club defeated Ssezibwa Bukamba by 2-0 score line at Ndeeba Church of Uganda. Stuart Ganafa and Ben Mulindwa scored the two important goals.
Kayunga United football Club lost to Nazigo Town Council Football Club at Bishop Brown playground.
Bbaale United Football club forward, James was top scorer of the league after scoring thirteen goals in the 2021/22 football season.
Kayunga DFA will now be represented by four (4) teams in the 2021/22 Zone 1 play offs which will be hosted by Mukono District Football Association.
The four teams are KLC-Rays of Grace FC, Nazigo Town Council FC, Bbaale United Football Club and Bus Park Kirindi Football Club.
