YSU To Hold Inaugural World Refugee Day Football Gala at Makerere
The Youth Sport Uganda in conjunction with the Game Connect to host an Inaugural World Refugee Day Football Gala to be held between 19th and 20th June 2021 at Makerere

This will be the first edition since the launch of the Game Connect Project- a sports for protection project funded by the Olympic Refuge Foundation working to improve the mental health of the refugee and host community Youth.
So far 13 boys teams and nine girls teams confirmed their participation.
But due to inter district travel ban, teams from the refugee settlement will not attend, 4 teams from the settlement.
There will trophies and medals for winners and 1st runners up for both categories.
Champion parents who are fostering cohesion and inclusion of refugees in their communities will also be rewarded with bicycles.
There will be no spectators as specified during the presidential address, there will only be teams, and SOPs will be followed, everyone will be wearing a mask and also players and officials will have sanitizing equipment.” Said the organizers.
