Youth Football: Mukono Galacticos, Volf Soccer Academy and Hearts of Talents Crowned Champions of the 14th Kings of Soccer Epic Gala

The 14th Season of the Kings of Soccer Epic Gala successfully climaxed on Saturday, 16th May 2026 at Green Valley Playground, Kigombya in Mukono, with Mukono Galacticos Soccer Academy, Volf Soccer Academy and Hearts of Talents Academy emerging champions in the U13, U11 and U8 categories respectively.
The one-day youth football gala attracted several competitive academies and showcased exciting young talent across all age groups.
Mukono Galacticos Defend U13 Crown
Defending champions Mukono Galacticos Soccer Academy retained their U13 title after edging Msingi Soccer Academy 1-0 in a tense final.
The closely contested encounter seemed destined for penalties before Jovan Kirembwe scored the decisive goal in the dying minutes of the game to separate the two sides and hand Mukono Galacticos back-to-back championships.
Earlier in the semifinals, Mukono Galacticos comfortably defeated Detroit Soccer Academy 3-0, while Msingi Soccer Academy overcame Balamu Foundation 3-2 in penalty shootouts after a 1-1 draw in normal time.
Volf Soccer Academy Triumph in U11
Makindye-based Volf Soccer Academy produced an impressive performance to defeat Balamu Foundation 3-0 in the U11 final and lift the trophy.
In the semifinals, Volf Soccer Academy eliminated Mukono Galacticos with a narrow 1-0 victory, while Balamu Foundation defeated King of Kings Soccer Academy 3-2 in penalty shootouts after a goalless draw.
Hearts of Talents Shine in U8
In the U8 category, Hearts of Talents Soccer Academy from Namawojolo defeated Asante Soccer Academy 3-1 in the final to emerge champions.
The young stars had earlier knocked out Volf Soccer Academy 2-1 in the semifinals, while Asante Soccer Academy eliminated Mukono Galacticos 2-1 in penalty shootouts following a barren draw.
The tournament once again highlighted the growing standards of grassroots football development in Uganda, with young players showcasing exceptional talent, discipline, and competitive spirit throughout the day.
