Women’s Elite League: Madina Nakaayi Splendidly Introduces Self as Asubo, Isra Share Spoils

The lefty, Madinah Nakaayi introduced her presence into Women football talented creatures with a superb free kick in a one all draw encounter between Asubo-Gafford Ladies FC and Isra Soccer Academy WFC honored at Kiteezi C/U Playground on Sunday evening.

Her maturity in the game has been growing from game to game this season with a big contribution towards the goals Asubo has this so far but today, she opened her account with a sweet free kick 25 yards from goal line. 

Her goal came in the 33rd minute of second half following a foul on Immaculate Kizza.

Asubo who had many chances in the first stanza, the halftime break came when they are on top of the game.

In the 69th minute, Asubo had a clear cut chance to kill off the game but Immaculate Kizza failed to press the ball at the back of the net to double the host’s lead.

Isra Soccer Academy in the 74th minute leveled the matters through Hailat Babirye long range free kick, height disadvantage beats Asubo’s goalie, Tsyabake Vivian.

From that spot, limited chances were created by both sides until the end of the game and each side watched away with a point though it was more vital for the visitors, according to their tactician Ogogo Isaac.

“It’s of a big pleasure to us that we have picked a point off Asubo, it’s very hard to win a game on road because the home side always have an advantage. So we are goitto build on this point to see that we win our last game of first round.” Said Isaac Ogogo.

 “We have been unlucky today not taking three points like we wanted, two points lost but again a point retained at home is good, we had challenges with our squad most of players are secondary school students, they have been in NPP Qualifiers, so coordination beat us a beat but in our next game they will all be in camp and we badly want those points. ” Benyamin Wanyama, Asubo-Gafford Ladies tactician.

Asubo is still on top with eight points in four games played, remains the only unbeaten side in Victoria group.

Next weekend, the first round will be ending and Asubo-Gafford Ladies will be on road heading to Bulenga to play against bottom placed Ajax Queens while Isra Soccer Academy will travel to Fort Portal play against struggling King of Kings at Buhinga Stadium.
