Vanessa Karungi Edith signing for B93 Copenhagen

At their head offices at Capital Shopper Nakawa, She Corporate FC officially sent off Vanessa and wished her the best in her new home.

Many call it a transfer but to me, I call it that we a coming to seal our relationship between us and B93 and Vanessa has made this dream come true, we started the discussions and one of the discussions was how to grow players and how do we give young players opportunity especially women.

Vanessa was one of the pilots we started with. Went sent her to Copenhagen and I am happy she successfully passed the trials and she managed to sign her professional contract, she is no longer an amateur player. ” Richard Kawere, the She Corporate chairman said in a press conference held at the clubhead offices in Nakawa today.

The first Ugandan Female play to transfer directly to Europe from Ugandan League, Vanessa Karungi asserted that she is going to Denmark as an ambassador, and she is to work hard to impress her new bosses to see that she create opportunity for more Ugandans to join the league.

First of all I am very happy about this opportunity, not everyone can get it.

So I promise to work extra hard to see that I impress my bosses and that I believe can create chances for players from Ugandan football because if I play well it means, many will get tempted to come to Uganda for more Players.” Said Vanessa before adding.

Another thing I can say is to thank chairman, Mr. Kawere, CEO, my Coaches, teammates because they have done much to see that I reach here, and the Federation. ” She said in her last remarks.

According to the club CEO, Mr. Mathias Kakuru, Vanessa signed a two-year contract with B93 Copenhagen, a second-tier side.

The club revealed that they went into agreement with B93 to take Vanessa but it wasn’t about money but the relationship between the two clubs.

We didn’t mind much about money, what fails many Ugandans, they first mind about money. So about Vanessa, we invested money but did not get money out of this move.

But we want to hit our dream target. When pursuing something, you need to sacrifice.

You know, it’s not easy to get a player from amateur and go direct to professional football in Europe.” Said Kawere.
