USSSA Wakiso District Ball Games II Zonal Qualifiers: LICOKA’s Netball Revolution Rolls Into Quarter-finals

Emerging school netball Challenger Light College Katikamu continued their impressive rise in the game after securing a place in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Wakiso District Ball Games II zonal qualifiers with a commanding 24-12 victory over Boston High School in the round of 16.

Light College, who were drawn in Group F alongside defending national champions Buddo SS, St Andrews, St Matia Mulumba, Mt. Olive and Boston High School, showcased their growing pedigree by winning four of their five group matches, suffering their only defeat against tournament favourites Buddo SS.

The Wakiso District Ball Games II zonal qualifiers got underway on Wednesday at Mwerere Recreation Grounds in Wakiso, where Light College opened their campaign in emphatic fashion, thrashing St Andrews 29-09 before cruising past St Matia Mulumba 38-06.

They maintained their dominance with a resounding 69-03 victory over Mt. Olive and later defeated Boston High School 25-17 in the group stage. Their unbeaten run was halted in the final group fixture following a 24-18 loss to reigning national champions Buddo SS.

The round of 16 draw paired Light College with Boston High School once again, but the Katikamu-based side proved superior for a second time, claiming a comfortable 24-12 win to advance to the last eight.

Light College will now face St Noa Girls Secondary School in what promises to be a thrilling quarter-final encounter on Friday at Mwerere Recreation Grounds.

The 2026 Wakiso District Ball Games II zonal qualifiers are scheduled to climax on Friday, 19 June 2026.
