USSSA Boys Football Draws: Greater Mukono Champions, St Julian Learns Opponents as Kitende Pitted in Light Group

The draws for the 2024 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association boys football championship have been held on Thursday, at Association’s head office at GNS Plaza – Old Kampala. 

Greater Mukono Region champions, St Julian High School Seeta have been pitted in group J with the Ankole region finalists, St Kagwa Bushenyi High School, St Maliko High School from Hoima Paidha SS from Zombo in West Nile. 

This is the first time St Julian High School Seeta featuring in the finals of Nationals, however, they tasted the waters in last year’s ball games II Under sixteen championship where they were eliminated by Buddo SS on semifinal. 

Other Greater Mukono Region representatives, finalists, Quality High School from Buikwe were pitted in group M with Jinja Progressive Academy, Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga and Kochi Secondary School. 

The best performer from the region in last year’s edition (stopped at quarters), Mukono Kings found themselves in group N with Fort Portal Secondary School, Pabo Secondary School and
Sseke Secondary School.

Holders St. Mary’s Secondary Kitende have been drawn in group A alongside Mbale Progressive, Ngora High School and Kisozi Seed School.

Last year’s runners up St.Henrys Kitovu have been pitted in Group P along with Kabalega Secondary School, Kobulubulu Secondary School and Hill view College Bulangira. 

Kibuli SS are in Group L with Jinja Comprehensive, St Augustine and Sironko while Amus College School will battle it out with Rakasinga CHE, Maddox Secondary School and Kyadondo Secondary School in Group I.

Buddo SS have been drawn in group H along with Kakungululu Memorial, Kabong Secondary School and Bulo Parents.

Last year, Kitende clinched the title after beating St Henry’s College Kitovu 1-0 in Fort Portal. 

This year’s edition will be held between April 26th to 6th May at Masaka SS.

Kitende along with Kibuli SS are the record winners of the competition with both schools tied on 11 championships
