USSSA Ball Games II | Futsal: Kakungulu Memorial Beats SMACON to Continue Impressive Performance

Besides dominating Hockey and handball in USSSA ball games, Kakungulu Memorial School targets to writes history as the first school to win the Futsal trophy.

For starters, this is the first time futsal is surfacing in National Schools championship and six schools that entered the records; Kakungulu Memorial, Kyadondo SS, Seroma Christian High school, St Marks College School Namagoma, Mukono Kings and St. Francis Busunju.

Kakungulu Memorial extended their perfect start with a 3-1 victory over Seroma Christian High School, thanks to goals from Ibrahim Azako, Ronnie Asiimwe and Acram Nyarwaya. The only consolation for Seroma came from Collins Walusimbi Mathew.

The win moved them to second place with six points only goal difference separates them from the table leaders, Mukono Kings High School.

Tactician, Magala Yasil revealed the secret that helped them to perform and he believes, the maiden futsal trophy is going in their trophy cabin.

“We’re happy that the boys put our instructions into action and it has helped us to get two consecutive wins, we have been preparing since we heard that Futsal is in National Championship. As the Kampala region representative, the region with national futsal stadium, we trained from that stadium.

We also have players who play in the Futsal league, this has helped us to perform and the least we can finish is winning this trophy.” Says Magala Yasil.

In other day’s results, St Francis Busunju bounced to winning ways, coming from two goals down and beat St Marks College School Namagoma 5-2, thanks to braces from Ssali Keith, Ebedu Daniel and a strike from Kayemba David. Kaye Derrick connected in his own net and Baraka Jacob scored the second for SMACON.

The day’s final fixture saw Mukono Kings High school beating Kyadondo SS 4-3.

Joseph Junior Jude scored a hat trick for Kyadondo and the four goals for Mukono came from Mukisa Daniel who netted a brace, Buluma Sudiki and Afeku Patrick.
