The unknown goons attacked Prime Radio renown journalist Ronnie (Ronald) Mayanja and hit him by an iron bar on Saturday night while heading to his mum’s home in Mbuya.
According to his wife, Mayanja was heading to his mum’s home in Mbuya, Nakawa, taking her the Christmas package, the unknown goons attacked him and hit him with an iron bar on his left eye.
The intention was to steal from him but the alarm he made, pulled the crowd to save him and rushed to a near by Clinic called Good Samaritan where he is getting treatment now.
“He was on his bike going to Mbuya but while he was crossing from spear road to Mbuya road, unknown goons, hit him with a bar on his eye and he fell down.” Mayanja’s wife narrating to this website while on phone.
“The people who heard him screaming, they immediately came for his rescue and they were good Samaritans, kept well his items including the phone and his bike and then rushed him to hospital.” She added.
Mayanja is expected to leave the hospital before the closure of today’s business and he will be receiving treatment from home.
His left eye got a serious injury and the earlier communication indicated that he may need an operation but his wife had this to comment on that.
“It’s true the eye was seriously injured and he is worried of it but we going to first deal with this five day treatment we are given, then later the doctors shall communicate to us according to his response to treatment.” A soft-spoken wife to Mayanja said.
