Stanbic Uganda Cup: SC Villa Falls in Defending Champions ‘Frying pan’ as R32 Draws Held

The defending Champions who humbled Vipers Sport Club on last year’s final in Masindi, BUL FC found themselves as the hosts of the round of 32 fixture against nine time winners Sports Club Villa.

The draws were held on Friday, 10th February 2023 at FUFA Complex in Mengo.

To reach this stage, BUL eliminated Sparks FC  following a 1-0 victory at Kirondo playground in Mukono, the Cooking Oil renown producers got their only goal through Hillary Onek while their counterparts, SC  Villa only sailed to this level after humiliating Kampala regional league Kireka FC, the Jogoos hummered Kireka by 6-0 at Kings Park in Bweyogerere.

The two will meet next week between Monday 13th and 20th February 2023.

In other draws, 2021 winners, Vipers SC will have a trip to Jinja to face a Big league side, Jinja North United will ten-time winners, Express FC will host Big league struggling side, Lugazi FC at Muteesa II stadium Wankulukuku.

Black Power will welcome Wakiso Giants in the other all-UPL tie.

There are still two pending cases for Round of 64 matches Adjumani Vs Gorilla Highlanders, and Elite Vs Arua Hill, which the home teams had won initially.

Kataka is protesting Gorilla using unlicensed player while Arua Hill petitioned FUFA claiming that Elite used double-licensed player but the Competitions Committee director Hajjati Aisha Nalule asserted that the case will be settled before the round 32 starts.
