3PM: Kawempe Muslim SS Vs Janan SS Bombo 

St Mathias Kalemba Secondary School, Nazigo will face Mukono Kings High School in the Buganda Schools Football round of Sixteen (R16) following the draws conducted by Buganda Schools Sports Committee on Monday 4th, July 2022.

The Nazigo based School, St Kalemba and Mukono Kings as par the fixture will face off on Thursday 7th, July 2022 in Lunch time contest at Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga.

It will be a replay of this year’s USSSA football match where Mukono Kings defeated St Kalemba by 1-0 at their own Soil in Nazigo and Kings emerged the winners of the Greater Mukono Zone.

“It was a good draw and we are not fearing them because we are not in our region (greater Mukono) and the game will be played on a neutral ground”. Stated Mr. Kawuma the head teacher St Mathias Kalemba SS, Nazigo 

“We are very positive about it because we are from the same zone, Greater Mukono because any result will automatically book a slot for our Zone in the quarter finals”.

“Our target was 32 round and since we advanced to round of 16, we are now in bonus. We are confident because on this level anything can happen”.

“We will not be surprised by the results because Mukono Kings is a good team tracing their performance in the USSSA football this year”. He added 

To reach this far, St Kalemba defeated St John High School Mukono and Latifah Mixed by 1-0 and 2-0 respectively in the group stages in the zone.

At round of 32, St Kalemba lost to Gods hope High School by 4-1 before winning their last two (2) games over St Marys Kalungi 1-0 and 5-0 over St Raphael Wakiso. 

Elsewhere in round of 32, Mukono Kings High School managed one (1) win coming against Kawempe Muslim Secondary School while the other two games ended in a one all draw to Buziga Islamic and Royal Giants Mityana.

Other fixtures in the championship, Divine College School Wakiso will battle St Andrew Kaggwa Gombe High School in an early kick off at 9AM before Wagwa High School Lukaya taking on Agape Christian High School from Nakaseke at 11AM.

In Lunch time contest, St Kalemba SS Nazigo will see them battle Mukono Kings High School and the last match day fixture will be between hosts, Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga and St Charles Lwanga Kasasa with kick off at 3PM.

The remaining four round of sixteen games will be played next week on Wednesday 13th, July at Ntaawo Playground in Mukono District.

Dynamic SS Mukono will be taking on Elite High School Entebbe at 9AM, Kawempe Royal College and St John SS Mukono will follow at 11AM then God`s Hope High School Luweero will take on Royal Giants High School Mityana at 1PM.

The last match will see Kawempe Muslim Secondary School take on St Janan Bombo at 3PM.
