The outgoing Parliament speaker revealed this news on the evening of Sunday, 23rd, May, 2021 at Hotel Africanna in Kampala.

Fellow Ugandans, I have come to inform the people of Uganda that my party has opted not to give me the party flag for Speaker of Parliament. I have therefore decided to run as an independent.” Kadaga revealed in the press conference held this evening at hotel Africanna.

Today, I was not given an opportunity to present myself to the electorate. The reason I am being pushed out is that I continue to speak for ordinary people.

We have spent a full year when the party members are fighting me, you remember the elections in CEC, they tried much to see that I don’t come back, they injected in alot of money but you people stood with me, and I assure you I will continue supporting you.” Kadaga.

Now the race is between three contestants, Rebecca Kadaga who is coming as an independent, Jacob Oulanyah (NRM) and Ssemujju Ibrahim Nganda of FDC.

The Elections for Speakership set to take part tomorrow, Monday at the Kololo Independence Ground Kampala.
