Pilsner Monthly Awards: Kitara Pair Takes Home February Accolades
The Kitara FC pair of head coach, Brian Ssenyondo and forward, Denis Omedi crowned the winners of the Pilsner coach and player of the month of February respectively.
The awarding ceremony was held on Friday morning at Kati Kati Restaurant Lugogo.
To take the accolade and one million shillings cash prize home, the current joint league top scorer (11 goals) Denis Omedi beat the competition off Sports Club Villa forward, Patrick Jona Kakande and Isaac Wagoina of Express FC who won the January accolade.
Omedi topped the chats after assisting once, scoring five goals in four games played in the month of February, scored two more than both Kakande and Wagoina.
While speaking to the media at the awarding ceremony at the Kati Kati restaurant on Friday, Omedi said award will motivate him more;

“I would love to thank Pilsner, Kitara and my Coach and team mates for helping me win this award” he said
Adding “This will motivate me as a player and will help me work better on the pitch as I take it game by game”
For coach’s category, Kitara head coach Brian Ssenyondo won the award above Hussein Mbalangu of NEC, and URA FC’s David Obua.
Ssenyondo guided Kitara to Three wins and a draw in four games hence going unbeaten in February.

“I would love to thank Pilsner, UPL, my boys and Omedi here because of all he has said about me but Uganda Sports Press Association(USPA) because they gave and my boss an award that we didn’t expect.”
Currently, Kitara FC leads the Uganda Premier league with 43 points in 21 games played.
