Pepsi UFL: Kabale Always ‘Romances’ League Sponsor to Introduce 6-Up Product, Swallows Almost a ‘Week’ against SLAU

Kabale University continues to be a poor traveller when it comes to Pepsi University Football League. 

The far western based University has been humiliated in the central when they swallowed six on Thursday against St Lawrence University at Crown City Grounds in Kavule – Masaka Road. 

In their second match of group C, St Lawrence University found no hardship to humble Kabale University in a seven goal thriller. 

St Lawrence had a poor start of the game, recklessly losing possession in the middle of the park and in the final third but they have kept on developing in the game and in the 29th minute, the Davis Nnono side started their scoring route with Kembo Osman Arafat cool finish, thanks to Matege Innocent well slotted in ball. 

Seven minutes later, with a constructed move from the middle of the park, Ziraba Ronnie, Michael Kayongo had a one tow interplay before finding Innocent Matege in the the left flank who pressed the ball to Kato Derrick who has released Kembo for his double of the day. 

Innocent Matege made it three for the hosts a minute before the halftime break, thanks to Agaku Vincent long ball that beat Kabale’s defense before Matege found his way to put the ball at the back of the net in the 44th minute.

Owonyu Michael Aturinda pulled one back for Kabale University in the 52nd minute with a perfect turn strike but their hope was immediately cooled down with Michael Kayongo’s free header in the 65th minute, thanks to Innocent Matege swang in corner kick. Kayongo returned to the score sheet in the 73rd minute with a nice free kick before Ziraba Ronnie sealed the win with a scorcher a minute later. 

St Lawrence University currently tops group C with four points in two games, Kabale remains the bottom table keepers with only a point. 

This is the second time in a row, Kabale is swallowing six while on road, last season, the tested the furnace of Bugema University when they beat them 6-0 in Bugema before inhering 3-0 against Uganda Martyrs University at Nkozi.
