Pepsi UFL: You’re better in Big League Maybe, Not in Students’ Game, UMU Mercilessly Humbles Ndejje

Group A Final Results:

Uganda Martyrs 5-0 Ndejje University

Kampala University 3-0 Gulu University

The 2018 Pepsi University football league champions, Uganda Martyr’s University mercilessly sent Ndejje University to go back prepare for next season with a 5-0 humiliating defeat. 

The win secured on Tuesday at home in Nkozi made UMU to qualify to quarterfinal for the sixth conservative time and as group E table leaders with 12 points in six games. 

Kayondo Joseph, Kaija Sunny, Aguma Wesley, Agamire Ivan and Henry Tumusiime scored for UMU as they humbling Ndejje University, the four goals came in the first stanza of the game.

It has been not a humanitarian revenge for Uganda Martyrs against the side thy lost only 1-0 in the reverse fixture two months back.

Meanwhile the 2013,2016 champions, Kampala University finished 2nd on the log with 10 points after defeating Gulu University 3-0 in the other game played on Tuesday at Kibuli and will have to await the results from the other groups to see if they qualify as one of the two best Runners-Up in the groups of 4 teams.

Kampala University goals were scored by Lakomakech Joseph,  Ategeka Fred and Kibuule Michael, and his goal was a penalty.

Ndejje University finished the season 3rd with seven points while Gulu secured the bottom place with six points. 

Action in the Pepsi University Football League continues tomorrow Wednesday with Kabale University hosting Bishop Stuart University at their campus in Kabale.

Bishop Stuart are currently atop Group C with 6 points from three games and a win will see them progress to the knockout stage.

However, Kabale University still have a chance if they win their remaining 2 games against Bishop Stuart tomorrow and Kyambogo University on Monday next week.
