Pepsi UFL: Kabale University ‘taken past Mukono’, Six-Star Bugema is the Tormentor

Bugema University 6-0 Kabale University
Bugema University after losing their opening fixture of the 11th edition, 3-1 against the Defending champions, Uganda Martyrs University, in their second game, they ran riot against Kabale University.
The Nyanzi Medhi coached side humiliated Kabale by 6-0 goals in a fixture honored on a rainy Sunday afternoon at Bugema University playground.
Sawa Eric, Isaac Ssenyunja, Ssebbaale Swalaf Din, Opio Aziz, Musuk Innocent Mark and Musinguzi Derrick scored the six goals that gave Bugema the first three points of the season.
With a rebound, Sawa Eric gave Bugema University a lead in the 29th minute before Isaac Ssenyunja doubled the lead in the 35th minute with a scorcher.
The depleted Kabale University tried to have a consolation before the break but their goal poacher, Muzoora Alleluyah failed score any since Ronald Karungi, Bugema University’s custodian was always equal to the challenge.
Isaac Ssenyunja who had a good day in office was fouled in the forbidden area for Bugema to win a penalty, calmly converted by Ssebbaale Swalaf Din to stretch the lead in the 67th minute.
Opio Aziz made it four for Bugema with a rebound before Musuk Innocent Mark and substitute Musinguzi Derrick scored the fifth and the sixth.
Kabale University became the first University this season to concede six goals to none, the other side that had conceded many is Gulu University which swallowed four against Nkumba University.
Coaches and players reactions:
“We had better preparations ahead of the game, and we expected a win, the loss against Uganda Martyrs University was a wake-up call to us, we return back and rectified our mistakes, I can say we are not turning back because our target is to win this year’s trophy.” Says Nyanzi Medhi, Bugema University head Coach.
Ssenyunja Isaac one of the players who had a better game on the day;
“Scoring a beautiful goal today, plus my teammates scoring, it’s the effort we put in as players, we do person training and that of the coaches, we are still going forward because we want to write history in our University’s sports history.”
Kabale University captain Tulyasingura Mansoor accepted that it was a bad day but the rain and the nature of the pitch beat them but they are going back home to prepare for Uganda Martyrs.
“Today’s game was too bad to our side because we conceded 6-0 but i think the challenge was the rain, the pitch became slippy, the guys got a home Advantage because they are used to it, we tried our level best but we failed even to get a goal but we are going back to rectify, train even more harder to prepare enough for Uganda Martyrs.” Mansoor confessed.
“Football on road becomes very hard, most of the players are on injury, that’s why you saw me making only one change, most of them are sick. But I hope in our next game against Martyrs, some of them will be back.” Says Nsubuga Farouk head coach Kabale University.
The league will have a rest on Monday and resume of Tuesday when Uganda Christian University will be hosting Busitema University in Mukono.
