Netball Super League: Posta Back to Default Setting, KCCA, Prisons Win As Asinah Kabendela Extends Lead on Scorers’ Chart

The Uganda National Netball Women’s Super League getting close to the final bend of the 2021/22 season.

Yesterday, Prison Grounds Luzira hosted seven enticing games that made it a real women’s day, the match day to which the president of Uganda Netball Federation, Hon. Sarah Babirye Kityo attended.

Over the week at Weyonje Grounds-Kibuli, Posta Netball Club that once a giant in the game of Netball until late 90s, registered it’s first win of the season beating league bottom mate KBK by 43-39 goals, but yesterday, they returned to a default setting of losing each game, the Madam Rosette Kaala managed side lost 23-81 against dangerous Weyonje Netball Club and Ugx Luweero 53-33 to register their 14 losses this season in 15 played matches.

The opening fixture of the day, saw the hosts, Prison NC beating UCU 66-44 to maintain it’s third place now with 24 points in 14 games, on one point behind the table leaders KCCA NC.

Ugx Luweero that so far gave out two walkovers this season with no clear reasons, managed to win their two matches played at Luzira, beating Posta 53-33 and registering 47-26 victory against bottom placed KBK.

UPDF is another side that beat KBK yesterday, the solider girls secured a 49-31 win to register their 4th win of the season, sit 8th on the log with 8 points.

KCCA NC to go top of the table for first time this season, they beat UCU 56-43 in one of the big games on the day.

KCCA, the only side that grabbed a point off NIC Netball Club this season, now sit on top of the ten team log with 25 points in fifteen games.

Currently, the top four has KCCA NC, NIC, Prisons and Weyonje Netball Club.

The battle to take this year’s title still on but even at the scorers’ log, Asinah Kabendela of Weyonje, still very serious on taking the top scorer’s gong, the girl is scoring for fun, now with 555 goals this season but Police’s Specioza Namukose not far, now at 446 and Oyella Stella of NIC at 389.

The league returns this Saturday with six games.
