Motorsport: Do You Still Remember Jacob Oulanyah?, His Maiden Memorial Autocross Championship Launched

On Tuesday at Grand Imperial Hotel in Kampala, the late Jacob Oulanyah Memorial Autocross championship has been officially launched.

The Right Honourable Jacob Oulanyah died last year and he was a known biker and he left strong legacy which can not be forgotten by Ugandans in that line.

Members of Parliament and other  Ugandans have decided to commemorate Right Honourable Jacob Oulanyah by organizing such event. This event officiated by Justice and constitutional affairs minister Hon. Nobert Mao.

“God did not intend that life should be boring, You can even see that even in exercising faith. Many believers don’t want to be bored even in church or mosque. And by the way, for those of us who are Christians, Jesus was not a boring character.”

He added “This is also an opportunity to reinvent the image of bikers. Many Ugandans when you talk of bikers. They have the image which is presented by Hollywood. Jacob has always been passionate about biking from his youth and one day he road to Gulu in two hours. He had a 600 cc motor bike. That bike is still in Gulu.” 

The MPs and the family are going to organize this event in conjunction with the Federation of Uganda Motorcross and it is slated to take part on 25th March 2023 in late Jacob Oulanyah area in Gulu.

The CEO of Mwesigwa Resorts and the area member of Parliament of Mbarara South County Hon. Mwesigwa Lukaali has funded the the memorial event with 10 million shillings.

 “So I encourage you as Jacob Oulanyah family, to take  this as part of our economic transformation.”
