Masaza Cup 2024: “I don’t Want any other Story apart from Winning the Trophy”, New Ssekiboobo Alerts Kyaggwe Sazza Team

The 2024 Masaza Cup tournament is slated to kick off in June this year, with less than two months to go, Kyaggwe Sazza has kicked off their preparation with fundraising activities. 

The new County Chief, Owek. Vincent Matovu has asked the Ssaza team to go for nothing  else apart from winning the 2024 trophy, the title they have never won before. 

The newly appointed Ssekiboobo was giving his Remarks at the fundraising event held at Mukono Bishop’s on Sunday 21 April, 2024. 

“I send you not just to participate but I want Masaza cup Trophy, it makes me feel bad to hear that Kyaggwe has never won Masaza cup, I hate that.” Said Owek. Vincent Matovu. 

“I am giving you 10M and I will give you more after group stage” he added. 

The fundraising got over 70 Millions which is to be used during Masaza cup preparations. 

The Ceremony that started with prayers, was graced by Archi Bishop Ronald Kazimba Mugalu as the chief guest, deputy Katikkiro Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa and others dignitaries from Kyaggwe including politicians and Businessmen.

The event climaxed with a friendly match which saw Kyaggwe defeating Masaza cup champions Bulemeezi 1-0 by a goal scored by Kato Julius Lule with both teams fielding players selected from Ssekiboobo and Kangawo Cups tournaments that concluded early this month.

Earlier Kyaggwe politicians defeated religious leaders 2-0 with Buikwe district LC five Chairman Jimmy Kanaabi scoring the goals.
