Masaza Cup 2023: It’s Tears of Joy or Sorrow as Buddu-Gomba Meet at Recreation, Bulemeezi-Mawokota to Fight for Final Slot

The second leg of 2023 Masaza Cup semifinals will be played on Independence day as Gomba visits Buddu in Masaka while Bulemeezi will welcome Mawokota in Luweero. All games will kick off at 3PM

In the first leg, Gomba defeated Buddu 2-1 in Kabulasoke and a draw will help Gomba to progress to the final.

Buddu will need to beat the visitors with a two-goal margin to advance to the final and it will be their fourth consecutive final.

Gomba FC head coach Felix Ssekabuza is optimistic that his team will put up a spirited performance to overcome Buddu.

“We have prepared well for the game, my players are very ready. Buddu have quality players and we respect them but we aiming at reaching the final and I am confident we shall finish the job.” Said confident Ssekabuza.

The three time winners Mawokota will visit Bulemeezi at Kasana playground in Luweero in a do or die game.

In the first leg, both teams shared spoils in a 1-all draw. Bulemeezi will be aiming to reach the final for the first time since 2019 where they went on to win the title.

Mawokota who last played in the final 10 years ago, are also eyeing to bounce back with a big statement and the winner between Bulemeezi and Mawokota, will face the winner on aggregate between Buddu and Gomba.
