Gomba remains the roaring lion in the jungle of Masaza Cup Tourney, they silenced the motormouth Buddu with a comfortable 3-1 victory at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende on Saturday afternoon.

The 2020 edition top scorer (8 goals), Charles Bbaale, defender Gift Fred and George Kaddu were on score sheet when the Lions from Gomba beat Buddu boys to lift the fifth title in nine finals they have played since 2004.

The only goal for Masaka boys scored by Titus Ssematimba.

Like they have been doing it since the start of this editon, Gomba came in with an early goal, with only three minutes into the game, Bbaale Charles had already put the Ibrahim Kirya side in the lead with a simple tap in thanks to Jackson Ssemugabi well laid cross from the left frank.

After only five minutes, Titus Ssematimba leveled the game with a sweet header, converted from a corner kick brought in by Ssengendo Sharif from right frank before George Kaddu separated the tie with a thunderbolt freekick strike, 35 yards from goal line, his goal came in the 12th minute.

Gift Fred finished the task of the day with a calm press in the 17th minute, and the business of scoring ended at that point.

The win moved Gomba to five titles while Buddu remained on one title they won in 2016.

Charles Bbaale of Gomba Lions finished as the top scorer with eight goal while Usama Arafat of Busiro named the MVP of the 2020 editon.

However, this time round, His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II did not grace the final.
