Masaza Cup 2020: Bugerere Makes It To Quarterfinals As Mawokota Tops Masengere

Bugerere Saza football team finally qualified to quarter final after securing an important point in their last group game against Kooki as Mawokota topping Masengere with maximum points.

A 2-0 win for Mawokota against Kyadondo Saza has been very important to Bugerere than the owner of the victory.

The Andy Ssali coached side, Bugerere managed to secure a point in their last group game after a one all draw against Kooki in the afternoon encounter enjoyed at FUFA Technical Center Njeru.

Following a barren first stanza, Geoffrey Gaganda, in the 59th minute gave Bugerere a lead but with 11 minutes to final time whistle, his goal was cancelled by Jacob Othieno for the game to end in stalemate.

Bugerere made it to quarter final level with four points collected in three games and became the second on the log.

Meanwhile, Mawokota saza, the 2013 champions became the first team in 2020 Masaza cup tourney to collect maximum points at group stage level, won three game out of three to top Masengere group with nine points.

The side scored at least two goals per game and conceded only one.

So far six teams confirmed their slots in quarter final among are; Busiro, Mawogola, Mawokota, Bugerere, Busujju and reigning champions, Bulemeezi.

Mawokota at quarter finals, they will be waiting for a side that will grab second position in Muganzirwaza group while Bugerere will be waiting for the giant in that same group.
