Kisobola, Goberera Initiatives Partner To Monitor Government Projects In Ssembabule
For so long, there has been an outcry about the implementation and follow-up of government projects in different parts of the country, Ssembabule District inclusive.
The Mawogola North legislator, Hon. Shartsi Kuteesa Musherure wants the cry in her area to be History in so doing, the Goberera Initiative went in partnership with the Kisoboka project to spear head the development of the district.
Shartsi, NRM Vice Chairman in Buganda Region, Hon. Godfrey Kiwanda Ssuubi and Ssembabule District leaders spent Wednesday 29th, September 2021 visiting model farmers in the constituency with the aim of seeing how best they can be assisted.
“We have started the journey of five years and we have one word, development, and change in our day-to-day life,” Said Hon. Shartsi
“We want to change the mindset of our People to know how they can use the available land not only for food but also generating income”
“We have come to visit our people and know exactly what are they doing, what they need and how can we help them. On the first day, we have seen many People with abilities but only need support to boost what they do”
She went ahead to call upon all people to believe that if at all they utilize the available land, they can fight against poverty in their community.
“It is time for us all to know that we can eradicate poverty in our community because we are rich, we have vast land and if we use it well there will be change because this initiative is not ending today but it is here to stay”.
NRM Vice-chairman in Buganda, Godfrey Kiwanda Ssuubi was so impressed by what he did see in the community on their first day touring Mawogola North, Ssembabule District.
“We have visited people with vast land, those with four acres and one acre but they have proved to us that once you determined and do anything wholeheartedly you can benefit no matter the location meaning it can (Kisoboka)”
Refering to Ssemirembe Emmanuel a model farmer in Ssembabule town council, Kiwanda said people can employe others within the community and we fight unemployment
“We have also identified that it can be possible for people to be employed and start earning for their living because if one farmer like Ssemirembe can employe over 60 People monthly this means if we can have 300 farmers in the District automatically unemployment will be no more in our Country”
On the first day, the first held a briefing meeting at the District headquarters which was attended by Deputy RDC, Hajji Marijan Walire, DPC SP Mugerwa Bernard, and other District leaders.
Then the team visited Nyanzi Peter and Mwesigye Churchill in Mabindo Sub-county, Ssemirembe Emmanuel of Ssembabule Town council, Yasin Ssekyanja, and Miss Kasule from Mijwaala Sub County.
Kisoboka and Goberera initiative teams were accompanied by Ssembabule Local council V chairman, Patrick Nkalubo, District production officer, Dr. Kawooya Emmanuel
On day two which is Thursday 30th, September, the team will move around Ssembabule Town council, Mitima Sub-county, Lugusuulu, and Kawanda sub-county before heading to the district headquarters where the official launch of the Kisoboka-Goberera campaign will be held.
