King of Africa University Rugby Championship: Busitema Boons Announce Their Arrival with a Brutal Victory over Kisi

The Busitema Rugby Boons have roared onto the continental stage in style, brushing aside Kenya’s Kisi University with a dominant 14–5 win in their opening fixture of the Kings of Africa University Rugby Championship taking place in Kenya.

Flagged off in high spirits by Vice Chancellor Professor Paul Waako, the Boons wasted no time in translating their confidence into performance. During the flag-off ceremony, Prof. Waako jokingly warned their Group C rivals, saying,

“I sympathize with my brothers from Kisi University who are going to face the Boons.”

And just as he predicted, the Boons charged through their opponents with power and precision, drawing first blood in their campaign for continental glory.

Following the emphatic win, Prof. Waako couldn’t resist a cheeky follow-up:

“Kisi University has been beaten 14–5 in favour of the Busitema Boons. The Boons are very tough — and honestly, they were even annoyed that Kisi managed to get 5 points. They wanted a zero for Kisi.”

The victory not only cements Busitema University’s growing reputation in university rugby but also signals Uganda’s rising presence on the African rugby map.

With eyes now set on progressing from Group C, the Boons carry the pride of Busitema — and the roar of a nation — as they charge deeper into the tournament.
