Joel Kayiira Vows to Serve Kayunga Fearlessly as Acting LCV Boss
Now the acting LCV chairman of Kayunga District, Joel Kayiira vowed that him and his team will serve the Kayunga residents without fear for the period they will be in power.
Today, Thursday, 1st July 2021, officially Joel Kayiira who have been the vice chair received the keys of the Chairman’s office and he is expected to keep them for a period of at least six months until they Electoral Commission will hold by-election to replace the fallen Ffeffeka Sserubogo Muhammad who died on 16th June 2021.
Adong Rosemary Luhoni, the Chief Executive Officer of the district has officially handed the office to Kayiira, to whom she asked to genuinely keep the office well untill the new chairperson will be elected.
“Since our district chairperson passed on, he is not here to handover, but the law provides and the local government act section 17, that in the absence of the district chairperson, the vice takes over the office for a period of six months and the vice has taken this office for a period of six months. We have also made a report to electoral commission because in six months, EC is expected to organize by-election for replacement of the Chairman. ” CAO, Adong Rosemary said while adding over office.
Kayiira who has already showed interest in the position vowed that he is to serve the district without fear and he and his team are to work people’s challenges especially land issues.
“With the executive team, and the technical staff we are ready to serve you with no fear. I believe when working with a good team, services can easily reach to people.
The huge challenge we have in Kayunga is Land issues, you can’t promote the welfare of people without settling the land issues. So we are to work on that as leaders.” Joel Kayiira.
