It’s Allergy not Poison, Katikkiro Mayiga Speaks about Kabaka’s Health
The Buganda Kingdom Prime, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga finally came out publicly to speak about the health state of the King, Ssabasajja Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.
In a live Television address he made on Friday afternoon, Mayiga rubbished the speculations moving around indicating that Kabaka is ill and he was poisoned that’s why he even did not give a speech on Tuesday when celebrating his 66th Birthday at Lubiri Mengo.
Mayiga is saying that Kabaka is not Ill but he faces breathing challenge when he puts on mask or face shield, he is allergic to that.
On Tuesday April 13, 2021, we celebrated the 66th birthday of our Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II and thanked God for the long life.” Mayiga started.
“Those who followed the events on TV and social media noticed that the Kabaka’s disposition was different from that his subjects are used to.
We all face ailments from time to time. In the Kabaka’s case, the challenges are related to allergies that cause him breathing difficulties, especially when he wears a mask or face shield.“
“I would like to urge you to disregard the rumours on social media that the Kabaka had been poisoned. They are totally wrong, baseless and unfounded. They cause unnecessary anxiety,” Mayiga addressed Ugandans.
In the same sentiment, Mayiga said that soon Kabaka will be fine because his expert medical team is carefully handling him.
Katikkiro’s speech came few hours after Kabaka and Nabagereka received COVID-19 Jab at Kabaka’s palace in Banda-Kireka.
