I’ll Transform the Entertainment Industry if Given Ministerial Role- Mayinja

Kampala: The band music star who turned politician Ronald Mayinja has revealed his readiness to transform the entertainment industry if he becomes Minister in new President Museveni’s government that’s waiting to be sworn in on 12th May 2021.

Though it employees a big section of youth in the country, for a year now, the entertainment industry is still out of business since the President announced total lockdown last year in March due to COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.

While appearing on local TV show, called Uncut on NBS, Mayinja said he has no regrets for leaving National Unity Platform for NRM and his prayer is for the government to hand them a standing entertainment ministry.

“I don’t regret joining NRM and now I pray that the president gives us an entertainment ministry so that our money comes straight to the right people because I personally want to bring change in the industry and I can serve people regardless of their parties” Mayinja noted.

According to Mayinja, the entertainment sector needs transformation which he believes can only come through him.

“If given a ministry,I can’t refuse it because I want to bring transformation and to work for my country. I am ready to serve if given the opportunity” he added.

It should be remembered that last year, Mayinja left the opposition side and joined the ruling party where he sang a campaign a song for president Museveni dubbed ‘Mzee Akalulu Kako’ which placed him at war with NUP supporters calling his a hypocrite.

However Mayinja didn’t sound bothered about that.

“I don’t regret leaving the opposition because I was tired of their insults and false accusations” he said. That’s why I chose to support president Museveni unconditionally because he has a lot of things to do for the people of Uganda.” Said Mayinja.
