The Uganda Revenue Authority has told court that Bobi wine was supposed to get special permission to import Armoured car.
Since Kyagulanyi Ssentamu received that bulletproof vehicle towhich he says that it’s his supporters donated it to him, Government and URA have been wondering and scratching head how the car made its way into Uganda.
A week after it entered the country, URA Customs Commission wrote to Kyagulanyi to take back the Car to be RE-examine, the call, National Unity Platform Principal, Kyagulanyi first rejected.
On responding to Bobi, the URA manager customs department told court that Bobi Wine’s car wasn’t cleared as an Armoured car.
“Armoured vehicles require special permission to import or own because they are restricted items under customs law and law regulating the Uganda people’s defense forces. Bobi wine should cooperate with URA to clear the matter, let him accept the vehicle to be examined for the second time to avoid pending questions about the vehicle” says Geoffrey Balamaga the URA manager customs department.
However Bobi wine says that he has been targeted by very many organisations to confiscate or damage his vehicles.
“The allegations of Bobi Wine are false. URA has never targeted the applicant for any reason whether before and after the elections.
Examination of the vehicle is just a matter of hours if Bobi cooperates and all documents are in order” URA responds.
Recently Kyagulanyi accepted his Vehicle to be re-examined but the exercise must take place at his home.
