The Fufa 2021/22 Women’s Super League Most Valuable Player and She Corporate attacking midfielder, Phiona Nabbumba is not moved by her side’s poor start of the season.

On Sunday afternoon, the last season’s champions, She Corporate registered their first loss of the season against closest rivals, Kampala Queens at their home ground at MUBS Nakawa.

The Money bags, who shopped almost all the top players in the league beat the Sharks 2-1 at full time and moved at the top of the table with six points in two games.

Nambatya Favour, gave the Sharks a lead in the 62nd minute but the visitors came from a goal down to go with three points, thanks to Resty Nanziri 64th minute press and 73rd minute well converted penalty by Shamirah Nalugya.

The result made the reigning champions to remain on one point in two games, despite a five points game between them and Kampala Queens, Phiona Nabbumba is not moved since the season has just began.

“We have played two games, but getting the results that we don’t need, we are doing everything right but results are not yet good but we are still focused. The league has just began, we do still have a chance to defend our title because it’s our target this season. 16 games are in our hands, so it’s up to us to win them and we defend the title.” Said Confident Nabbumba.

In the same sentiment, the club’s head coach stated that it was a bad day in the office but they are to bounce back soon, a lot of lessons learnt in the two games played so far.

“Actually I can say, it was a bad day in the office, we had chances in first half and second half but a beat my defense slept off. However, we are going to work on the errors and we bounce back to the winning ways.

Even Kampala Queens had a poor start last season but later they re-organized, so we do still have a chance and I believe in my players.” Said Hassan Issa Yussuf.
