FUFA Elections: Kaboom!! Justine Nambafu Joins the Race For Elite League Clubs’ Delegate
Former She Corporate and UCU Lady Cardinals defender, Justine Nambafu joined the race of those who want to represent Elite League Clubs in the top FUFA executive.
Justine, the current Wakiso Hills Women football club Finance manager joined U-17 Women national team assistant coach, Hadijjah Namuyanja who also announced on Thursday that she wants to represent the Elite Clubs.
Today in an exclusive interview with this website, Former Beach Soccer Director, Nambafu revealed that she feels that she is ready to offer her administrative skills in development of women football in Uganda.
“The reason why I have come for the position of delegate, Elite League Clubs, is that I have been in football, I have played football, have managed football and I feel I am the right person to give a hand in developing the game that I understand.” Justine revealed.
“We have problems with branding, management, advocacy, implementation and empowerment, so all that makes me feel the pinch and come for the position because I think I can help women football.” She added.
In the current regime, National team the Crested Cranes head coach, Faridah Bulega is the lady representing Elite league clubs but they feel she has done nothing and feel that they want to change.
Justine is standing on the following pillars;
Branding the game of Women football in Uganda.
“That’s one thing involving the media, the community around as, good brand attracts fans, and it attracts sponsors because they move hand in hand, if fan base is there, sponsors will come but with out it, they will shy away.”
Advocacy;
“We need to advocate for what is ours, football is ours, Mr. Magogo has many projects for women football but how can we get them. We need a friendly voice to get what is ours, in a very peaceful way, such that we get what we meant to get not through fights.”
Empowerment in Women football.:
“Yes we have had courses for management, refereeing, coaching but not fully empowered, human resource in football it’s not mean to sit in office, but to be on ground, that’s what we need in women football, we have many policies which are not implemented, so we need someone who is active, some one who can talk to see that these things are reached at.“
Though she is coming as a delegate, who doesn’t have Powers to make and pass policies, confident Nambafu saying that it doesn’t need her to be in top seats to see that such developmental ideas are implemented.
“In management there is what they call involvement, if my brand is attractive to you, I believe you will buy whatever idea I have and even the little resource you have, can inject in my idea. These things to be implemented, doesn’t need me to be in top office.” She explained.
Who is Justine Nambafu?
Simply she is the former UCU Lady Cardinals defender, played for them between 2007 to 2010 before she joined Kampala International University.
In 2014, Justine Nambafu joined She Corporate and she was in the formidable team that lost final of 2016 Elite league, beaten by Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC via shootouts at Nakivubo.
In her evening days at She Corporate, she was in management before switching to Beach Soccer in 2017. At Uganda Women Football Association, she has been representing beach Soccer, but before joining UWFA, she was director Beach Soccer.
Currently, Justine Nambafu is the Finance manager of Wakiso Hills Women football club, it’s an elite league side.
