FUFA Big League: We Have Sam Ssimbwa Who’s Yours?, Kitara Put NEC’s Credentials of UPL Promotion on Weighing Scale

Kitara FC continues to prove it’s readiness for Uganda Premier League promotion come next season when they picked important points from Bugoloobi Coffee Ground.

NEC FC home unbeaten run was brought to end on Thursday, 09 ,March 2023 after being stunned by the Kinyara Sugar sponsored side, Kitara FC at Bugolobi play ground.

The Bunyoro based side beat NEC by 1-0 ,thanks to Dudu Ramathan well converted penalty that came in the last five minutes of the game.

The penalty came off the  foul committee on Lazarus Bwambale by Brian Mato in the forbidden area.

The three points saw Ssimbwa coached side move top with 40 points ,two points above the second placed Uganda police football Club.

The win over NEC became the second consecutive win for Sam Ssimbwa since joining Kitara FC, replacing sacked Mark Twinamatsiko in the league and the first one came off, Lugazi FC in Hoima.

NEC FC will however feel down and demoralized, having held the game for 84 minutes but failed to control Lazarus who created a danger to the hosts.

The loss drops them to forth position on 37.

With three points separating them and the first placed Kitara, Lukyamuzi coached side still stand  a chance to gain promotion if they can win all their remaining games.

Else where ,Uganda Police Football Club moved second on the log with 38 points after sharing points with Kyetume in Nakisunga.

Mbarara City moved to 37 points same as NEC after playing out a goalless draw against Kataka in Mbale.

Calvary beat Ndejje University 3-0 in Yumbe to move fifth on the log , Luweero United lost 3-0 to Lugazi while Booma were held to a goalless draw by Adjumani.

Northern Gateway picked their second successive win, defeating Kaaro Karungi 1-0 in Lira.

Matchday 20 action will conclude on Friday with Jinja North United hosting Soroti City.
