Kayunga Community Club Commemorates women’s day, Distributes, Educate Girl Child In Kayunga
Kayunga Community Club, a charity club based in Kayunga on Wednesday 8th, March 2023, donated Pads and Educated Mothers of tomorrow who are still in schools in Kayunga District.
The beneficiaries were girls at Namagabi UMEA Primary School and Uganda Martyrs Seconday School Kayunga, and the donations were handed to them on their respective Schools.
Vice President, Kayunga Community Club, Christine Komugisha outlined the reason as to why it was much more needed for the club to visit Young Girls who are still in School.
“Girl children are concerned these days because we want to encourage them that they can to the fact that this is a gender equality era”.
“On the issue of culture, Kayunga Community Club wishes not to eradicate culture because we want a woman to always be a woman by respecting the husband at home but our major aim is that Woman should not be left behind let us say in sharing roles through understanding one another”.
“Girls go to the same Schools with Boys and also do the same subjects, meaning they can do the same course in high institutions, but this doesn’t mean that they (Women) should not respect Men”.
In present was Bwogi Joseph Mpagi, the president Kayunga Community Club, who requested Girls and Women available never to undermine them selves as things have now changed.
“If we have had a woman contesting for Chairperson Local Five seat giving an example of Hon. Harriet Nakwedde, this means you have all what it takes to do anything and become something bigger in this world”.
Hon. Harriet Nakwedde, former Kayunga Women Member of Parliament and LCV Chairperson contestant, also called on Girls to always set goals and targets, be determined.
“Earthly things are many but unsatisfying, so please, I call upon you, my young girls, to always set goals, and please be determined because many things are on our way”.
On the day, Kayunga Community Club donated over 1200 pads to Yung Girls who are still in Schools.
Kayunga Community Club went ahead and played football with Uganda Martyrs Secondary School Kayunga and Netball with the School team.
Kayunga Community Club football team came from behind to register victory by 2-1 while the Netball team failed to the young Girls of Uganda Martyrs SS Kayunga.
